Chorus
The Chorus FX thickens the audio routed through it by layering pitch-wobbled delayed copies over the original, like several performers playing the same part. Like all FX, it receives audio via Delay Lines or its external input channel.
Chorus Properties#
- Rate: Speed of the chorus's pitch wobble. Slow rates feel lush and swimming; faster rates push toward a vibrato character.
- Depth: How far the wobble swings. A value of 0 disables modulation, while high values give a deep, seasick warble.
- Delay: The base delay time the chorus voices read from. Short delays sound tight and ensemble-like; longer delays start to feel slap-backy.
- Feedback: The amount of chorus output fed back into the input. A value of 0 is a clean chorus; positive or negative feedback adds resonant character.
- Width: Stereo width of the chorus. A value of 0 collapses to mono, 1 is natural stereo, and values above 1 over-emphasize the side channel for a wider image.
